Jul 23, 2014 · When I reboot my computer, the Volume, Network and Power icons in the system tray are gone. I can start/stop Explorer which does fix the problem until I reboot. I don't think I should need to do this each time I boot my computer I'm a very computer literate user, so I feel I know what I'm doing. This one has me baffled.

If there its version number will have changed from 1.9.5.0 to 3.0.1 while the Dell Update tray icon is missing from view, then I would attribute the disappearance of that tray icon likely to such updating of Dell Update, unless the installation of a future Windows update would complicate this issue.
